Today, the time has come to set myself on fire! Lucky me, this is going to happen only inside my computer, because I am going to show you how to create a burning effect in Photoshop using one of my photos, as usual, and nothing more…

1. As usual, first step is to get an image open inside Photoshop…

2. Duplicate the background layer, and use Filter>Artistic>Smudge Stick with the settings below on the new layer.

3. Duplicate the current layer and set the blending mode of the new one to Screen.

4. Press Ctrl+E to merge the two layers we have created, and then adjust saturation as you can see below(press Ctrl+U to bring up the dialog).

5. Duplicate the layer again, and then apply the saturation settings below.

6. Change the blending mode of the top layer to Overlay.

7. Press Ctrl+E again, and then use Filter>Noise>Add Noise, with the settings below. If you want, you can change the settings as you wish, to get the best results.
