Sometimes, an image is worth a thousand words, so here you have it - if you were impressed by that good looking text used by Apple for QuickTime and some of their Mac commercials, now it’s the time to be amazed how easy can we create something like it in Photoshop!

When talking about text effects, the possibilities are endless, as well as the path you can follow to the final result. Sometimes, you can get better results in 5 minutes, than in an hour, but it all gets down to practice, after all. Anyway, let’s cut the talking and start working! Today, we’ll learn to create text that looks like the one in the image below…

Fire effects are always great, if everything is done right, but we won’t set a building on fire today, because that requires a lot of work (I am talking about “adding a fire effect to a building’s image”, let’s set things straight once and for all, OK?). Text in flames looks great, and creating it isn’t that hard, so let’s do this instead and leave the more advanced fire effects for the future, all right?

There are thousands of ways to create nice text effects in Photoshop, and I am sure that cartoon-style text is something interesting for a lot of people. Since creating one of those many possible cartoon-style writings isn’t really hard, this is exactly what we’re going to learn today…
