While Photoshop’s power comes from a multitude of tools and features, I can’t forget about the styles and the fact that many people don’t use them to their full potential.
I won’t get into complicated things about styles, because there’s only one issue I want to solve today - styles are much more than just grabbing one style from the Internet and loading it, or using one of those already present in your palette. Today, we’re going to learn how to save your own styles for later use…
1. Create a new Photoshop document, or start working on an existing one, it’s your choice.
2. In my case, I have chosen to type some text and fine tune its blending options manually. If you’re a beginner, you can find out more about applying a style to text here , because using an existing style to create a new one is also a good idea.
3. As soon as you have found “the magic settings” you were looking for, left click New Style and give this new style a name, as you can see in the screenshot below.
4. Press OK to finish.
As a final hint - to see the other 2 possible previews of your soon-to-be style, try to have only one of the inclusion options(Include Layer Effects and Include Layer Blending Options) selected and notice the changes!
From now on, to use this new style, simply click on it in the Styles palette when you need it, it’s just as easy as that!
