
1. Create a new document, using any settings you want. Just try to keep the document square, if you want to use it as a texture, later…
2. Fill the background using the color coded #CC9966.
3. Apply Filter>Render>Clouds.
4. Now, use Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask, with 500%, 3, 0 as settings.
5. Next, Filter>Noise>Add Noise, with settings 10, Uniform, Monochromatic.
6. Duplicate the background layer, and set the blending mode of the duplicate to Hard Light.

Now all I need to is a texture depicting cracked paint or glaze. same as you have in an oil painting
