This tutorial walks you around creating some clouds fast and easy. It is a lot simpler than it looks and the effect you get is exactly what you might need.

1. Start with a cool blue background which will be the sky. Create a new layer (Layer ->New ->Layer) and using the brush tool with a low opacity (around 30%), sketch the clouds as you want them to look.

2. Now brush some more in places where it should be brighter.

3. Here comes the fun part. Select the Smudge Tool, then set the size to 5-7 pixels and the Strength to 75%. Start smudging with quick strokes.

4. If the clouds seems too sharp just blur them a little, and you’re done.
