In this tutorial I will show you how to make your kid have super powers. I made a kid shoot with a laser beam from his eyes just like Cyclops from the X-men cartoons.


STEP 1.
Chose a suitable picture that can be used according to what you have in mind.
(As a tip when always working on a picture make a copy of the background layer before starting to draw on it because you don’t know from the start if you want to delete all that you have done and start from scratch again. Then turn off the background layer visibility and work on the copy.)

STEP 2.
Chose Polygonal Lasso Tool(L), give it a 5 pixels feather and draw a laser beam shape. Make sure that you get on the outside of the picture with the lasso tool because you don’t want your laser beam to end at the border of the picture. Then chose a nice red color; make a new layer and fill the selection with red. And delete what you don’t need from that beam. The beam will come over the hand so with Lasso Tool(L) select and then copy the hand and paste it in a new layer above the laser beam layer.

STEP 3.
Do the same moves in one or two layers as in step 2. but use a white color to fill the selection. Then clip those white laser beam layers to the red layer.

STEP 4.
Now the picture is done. I just added some text, give it a outer glow(red) and played a little with bevel and emboss.That’s all.
