Learn how to give a soft glow effect to your photos. A soft glow creates an effect like the sun in the drops of water on a flower… just see below.

1. Start by opening the photo you want to use (File→Open).

2. Now go to Layer and click Duplicate Layer. You can also right-click the image and select Duplicate Layer.

3. A layer called Background Copy will appear in the layer palette. Be sure to have this layer selected, then go to Filter→Blur→Gaussian Blur. In this case the radius is set to 10 pixels, but you can choose any value depending on how much you want the photo to glow.

4. Now click the box where it says Normal and select Lighten.

5. Your image now has a soft glow. You can add some words to it and make it a wonderful greeting card.
